Supercar driver Jamie Whincup joined motoring enthusiasts at Easter Creek raceway Thursday the 4th of March to kick off the countdown to Australia's first luxury car rally, the Auzrun.

The Eastern Creek event featured V8 Supercar driver Jamie Whincup making a day of it showing some of the Auzrun entrants how to really push their cars on the track.  He also assisted Auzrun with the granting of wishes for Make-A-Wish children, with a spin around the track in an LP640.

The pre-event (to the first official run in November) began on the Wednesday from Melbourne and travel up through to Sydney and then finish off on the Gold Coast with a convoy of supercars and their owners.

With the raceday event on Thursday at Eastern Creek open to the public we had car lovers having an opportunity to ogle at some of Australia's finest supercars, including a Lamborghini's, Porsches,  Lexus's new IS-F model, Audi's R8, a number of M series BMW's, some American muscle in the form of the C6 Corvette and many more super cars.

This event was just a taste of things to come for the 30 entrants who will be taking part in Auzrun in November; driving their cars over 5 days from Sydney to Adelaide.

With a track event along the way, stopover parties planned for all stops each night and some other crazy stuff thrown in like a helicopter following the run along the great ocean road, its an adventure for people who are passionate about cars, people who like to party and people who like to do it all in good company.
